A talk by Viktor Grant

A Year In 1994. A Week In 2026.

A messaging protocol took me a year in 1994.

Today the same design can be built in about a week.

The idea

What I Say

In 1994 I designed a messaging protocol in Perl.
It took me a year to build.

The design was ahead of the tools.
That is how a futurist lives.

I did not know it could be built in a week.
Today I describe that design to Claude, with our SDK.

The idea did not change. The machines caught up.

Earthgrid invents the future. Then we wait for the tools,
and we build when they arrive.

In the room

What People Leave With

  1. A way to find your own old designs that the tools can now build.
  2. A test: which of your ideas was waiting for the machines?
  3. The role that makes the week possible: describe, read, fix.
For a panel

Questions I Would Bring

  1. Which idea of yours was ahead of its tools?
  2. What would you build this month if it took a week?
  3. What do you still believe takes a year?
A good question beats a prepared speech.
Your stage

How This Fits Your Program
