Scott Lane was their COO.
He is a friend, and he brought them to us.

They were raising money from the public,
through a crowdfunding platform.

A raise like that lives or dies on attention.
Nobody invests in a company they cannot find.

So we did what we do.
SEO, marketing, and a press release we wrote ourselves.

The phone rang after the money landed.

We could not. We tried.

By then there were hundreds of articles.
Many were written by robots, not people.

Some were simply wrong.
None of them were ours to take down.

Scott has since moved on to another startup.
We are still friends. The rankings stayed.

Four. Where we stand

We Are Investors. That Is All.

We say this plainly because the search results do not.

While we were their agency we ran their ads too,
full size across our search pages. That ended with the engagement.

We ranked them, we could not unrank them,
we invested, and we resell them.
